One of the great successes of 2003, and a surprise given the problems with Merlot in Pomerol. This is a powerfully huge wine, but its fruit is so rich, so superb that the tannins have just become part of a complete whole.
Few in the world claim to be the equal of Petrus (though neighbouring le Pin may be one such) and rightly so. This legendary garagiste is among the most highly sought-after wines in the world and comes with the price to match. Made almost entirely of Merlot, this is Pomerol at it’s finest.
